Welcome to Hoover

Hoover was recently named as one of the top 30 cities to live in the U.S. due to its low crime and unemployment rates, acclaimed schools, affordable housing, and abundant recreation. As the largest Birmingham suburb, and sixth largest city in Alabama, Hoover has everything from Alabama’s largest shopping mall, baseball stadium, sports complexes, parks, nature preserves, top ranked library, and school systems that are consistently nationally ranked. Due to its long list of amenities, affordability, and proximity to downtown Birmingham it is no wonder Hoover has a long history of record-setting growth. Yet despite its size, Hoover supplies the feel of a true community thanks to strategic planning and the establishment of dynamic, all-inclusive neighborhoods like Greystone, Ross Bridge, and Bluff Park.

Hoover’s Communities at a Glance:

Greystone: Situated in the picturesque foothills of the Appalachians, Greystone epitomizes elegance and upscale living. In addition to being listed by Travel & Leisure as one of the Top 100 U.S. Golf Communities, Greystone boasts 2 Golf Courses, a new fitness center, which includes massage therapy and childcare, along with tennis courts, pool, walking trails, dining and other choice amenities. With its natural beauty and exceptionally high-end facilities, Greystone is an ideal place to call home. It is, though, a commute nightmare for those driving to/from downtown at peak travel hours.

Ross Bridge: Welcome to an exclusive new home development. Named Best Community in America in 2011, it features a stunning, world-class golf course, walking trails, pools, parks, and front porch friendly living. The Town Center has a healthy pulse with its shops, restaurants, farmers' market and food trucks. There is always something happening! In addition, each neighborhood within this community is unique, enabling the community to suit a variety of diverse lifestyles and price points. Ross Bridge is about a 25 minute drive to UAB.

Bluff Park: Prized for its family-friendly atmosphere, Bluff Park was named as the Best Neighborhood in 2013 by the Hoover Sun. Its residents not only enjoy top public schools, but also the ease of socializing with other families, which gives this neighborhood a deep sense of community, and its price point makes it affordable for first time home buyers. Stop on the mountain top for an ice cream or burger and enjoy the view! And in the Spring don't miss the Bluff Park Art Show. You are sure to find some local artist's work that strikes your fancy. Much of Bluff Park is a 12-15 minute commute to UAB.
